What would be your best recommendation for a sweet wine or medium dry red?
I've enjoyed some nice red zinfandel wines such as Merlot white and white, but I'd like something like sweet or semi-dry red wine to find in one. I want something that is relatively smooth, with no unpleasant "Twang" to. I would appreciate any general or specific suggestions. I have some good information received from the first three answers, but surely there must be a other good recommendations. I want to know about them. Please talk about your knowledge of sweet or semi-dry red wines.
Sangria is a sweetened Spanish Rioja with traditional mulled wine, brandy and fruit. The real thing is great, the fake stuff is a lot of what you see in the American markets, You are sick. The little-known Italian wine Lambrusco is a semi-sweet, red (caution pitcher marked Lambrusco wine, they are not) Another Italian wine, this is a made of Banfi Rosa called shelves, which is a sweet red sparkler. Port is a fortified (high alcohol) wine, sweet and strong.
